Honda FCX Clarity Review
Next-generation hydrogen fuel cell vehicle
Honda’s first FCX prototype dates back to 1999 and they have clearly invested a significant amount of time, energy and cash on the vehicle and the result is a gem. The FCX Clarity’s most important contribution to the advancement of hydrogen fuel cells is Honda’s Vertical Flow (V Flow) fuel cell stack. Not only does it free up space, it also allows for higher cell voltage stability and reduces the amount of heat generated.

Emerging Research - 2.7 Volt Supercapacitor
On-board vehicle propulsion system
Supercapacitors can store a lot of energy while providing substantial power—answering both benefits found in typical capacitors and batteries. Unlike batteries, Supercapacitors charge without a chemical reaction; rather they store energy as a charge of electrons on a material’s surface. batScap’s 2.7 volt rated supercapacitor cell is going into mass production this January 2008 and as a supercapacitor it claims a higher specific power than batteries, with a longer potential lifetime and a high power efficiency. BatScap believes its supercapacitors can reach energy storage efficiencies higher than 95%
