BMW iPerformance Designation Introduced in 7-Series Plug-ins
In brief: BMW plans to introduce the iPerformance model designation at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show.

Year, Model: 2017 7-Series iPerformance
Starting with the 2017 BMW 7-Series plug-in hybrid sedan, the iPerformance designation will be used on all BMW vehicles with hbyrid-electric powertrains. The designation will begin appearing this summer as 2017 models are introduced.
The BMW 7403 and 740Le iPerformance and the 740e and 740Le xDrive iPerformance will be unveiled in Geneva as hybrid luxury sedans. Utilizing a four-cylinder gasoline engine with twin turbocharging and an electric motor, they will output 326 horsepower.
Targeted fuel consumption for the sedans will be 2.1 liters per 100 km, the equivalent of 112 mpg in the U.S. The longer wheelbase Le models will have slightly less.
The cars' body structures are based on a Carbon Core as seen in BMW's i-series cars (i8, i3, etc).
