Range Rover to Release Hybrid Version of the Sport

The word

Land Rover and Jaguar have been working together to field hybrid vehicles and the new Range Rover Sport Hybrid is set for release in 2012.

The hybrid will use the 3.0L V6 engine that are in the Sport editions now, but with a 25kW motor and drive train added to reduce emissions.

The vehicle will be a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) with a 20 mile all-electric range. It will be similar to the ERAD system showcased this year in the Freelander hybrid prototype.
