Make/Model: 508 Hybrid
The powertrain sharing agreement Peugeot made with BMW (BMW Peugeot Citroen Electrification) is finally going to come around into a new hybrid offering.
The BPCE agreement is a collaboration to create modular components that can be used in a variety of vehicle platforms for both companies - which could effectively create a European standard.
The 508-series additions will be two hybrids, one in the coupe and one in the station wagon bodies. They will use Peugeot's HYbrid4 setup with a 2L diesel engine driving the front wheels and a 28kW electric motor driving the rear. This combines into a city MPG of an incredible 74.
The hybrid 508s will also feature styling additions to make it more of a crossover in appearance, differentiating it from its standard counterparts in the series.
And so ...
No word on whether these will come to America anytime soon.
