Prius Named Greenest Hybrid

The Toyota Prius is the granddaddy of hybrid vehicles, and the original is still the best when it comes to being a friend of the environment.

According to a report from the New York Daily News, the U.S. Union of Concerned Scientists named the Prius the greenest hybrid.

The group said the Prius spews 40% fewer global warming pollutants as compared to a similar gasoline car.

Luxury models were judged separately. The Lexus CT 200h came in first, followed by the Lincoln MKZ hybrid. Lexus models held the next three spots.

4. Ford Fusion Hybrid
5. Hyundai Sonata Hybrid
6. Honda CR-Z
7. Toyota Camry Hybrid
