Peugeot Hx1 diesel-electric hybrid

The first of the company's diesel-electrics will be the 3008 HYbrid4, which enters production next year. The two new concepts to be shown at Frankfurt are a crossover wagon and a sports coupe called the 508 RXH and the Hx1 respectively. Both vehicles share a very similar drive train setup.

The 508 is a 200bhp combined output crossover wagon with a 2.0 HDi FAP diesel engine powering the front wheels and an electric motor on the rear axle. It is a plug-in electric capable of traveling all-electric for a short range and a combined European fuel economy of 59mpg(US equivalent).

The Hx1 is a similar vehicle with a slightly larger diesel engine (2.2L HDi) outputting a combined 299bhp with the capability of going all-electric for about 18.6 miles and with a combined European cycle fuel economy of 74mpg (US equiv).
