Peugeot has found a growing market in China and is taking steps to market there, including using its new in-house design studio in China for concepts like this. They expect to sell about 200,000 units in China this year.
The SXC is large at 4870x1610x2035mm (length-height-width) or about the size of the BMW X5, but with the stance of the Peugeot 4007. This design is in-house, however, whereas the 4007 was a Mitsubishi re-brand.
The SXC would use the Hybrid4 power train, which would be available in both gasoline and diesel electric hybrid options. Peugeot claims a 48.7mpg possibility for this concept using the 313bhp combined power train.
In fact, most of the power train components are identical to those featured in the RC concept. They are essentially second-generation Hybrid4 ideas, which would get slightly better numbers than the current diesel-electric hybrid to debut in the 3008 and 508 this year and next.
And so ...
It's obvious that Peugeot plans to continue development on the Hybrid4 power train and hopes to get a lot out of the system.
