Manufacturer: Peugeot
The word

The 508 sedan will become available in the beginning of 2011 and will have a HYbrid4 version appearing a few months later.
Both the 508 standard and the 508 HYbrid4 will have the new e-HDi system, a new-generation stop-start with improved driveability and economy.
The HYbrid4 technology features a parallel hybrid power train using a diesel, making it one of the few diesel electric hybrids on the road. The electric motor is coupled to a 6-speed, electronically-controlled gearbox (manual) and the aforementioned start-stop system.
Peugeot has the engine sitting up front in the usual space while the power electronics and components are at the rear of the car, giving a balanced ride and all wheel drive capability (motor running rear axles). Uniquely, all of the connections between the motor and engine are electronic with no mechanical linkage.
The 508 HYbrid4 will be capable of all-electric operation for short distances at low speeds.
And so ...
The 508 models will be offered in Europe and built by the Rennes-La-Janais factory (France) as well as in Asia through Peugeot's Wuhan, China plant.
