Vehicle in the news
Make/Model: Passat BlueMotion Manufacturer: VWThe word
The car was driven by automotive journalist Gavin Conway (The Sunday Times) and set a new Guinness World Record by traveling 1,531 miles (2,464km) on a single tank of fuel, averaging 75mph on the trip. That's equivalent to driving from London to Malaga or Los Angeles to New York with only one stop for fuel.
The Passat has a 1.6L TDI engine and is the standard production model BlueMotion vehicle - no changes were made. The entire trip used 77.25 liters (20.4 gallons) of fuel.
And so ...
Very cool. The Passat BlueMotion became available in Europe last year.Photo credits: VW
