Opel Vivaro e-Concept

General Motors' European brand Opel has debuted a new commercial concept van that is a range extended electric. The Vivaro e-Concept has a 249 mile range, a 5 cubic meter storage capacity, and a half ton (1,600 pound) load capability.

The Vivaro is propelled by a 111kW electric motor which gives 273lb-ft of torque. It's all-electric range is 62 miles before the range extender kicks in. Batteries are mounted under the floor and can recharge using the standard European 230V outlet.

Opel did not release information on the engine used as a range extender or projected miles per gallon usage.
