The International Truck of the Year award goes to the vehicle considered most innovative, economical, has low emissions, and great safety, driveability and comfort. A large part of the Atego's performance in the win comes from its BlueTec Hybrid variant, a first for both Mercedes and Europe. The Atego BlueTec Hybrid is Europe's first factory-built, series production hybrid commercial vehicle in this segment.
