Lexus Sets MSRP for LS 600h at Tesla Roadster Levels
In brief: Toyota's Lexus division has announced the suggested retail price for their new LS 600h and it's on par with the Tesla Roadster.

Make/Model: LS 600h
Manufacturer: Lexus (Toyota)
The mid-sized luxury sedan from Lexus has a hybrid drive train based on Toyota's Prius in the 2010 model. Designated the LS 600h ("h" for hybrid), the car is the flagship LS 600 model with a hybrid drive train.
The price tag, announced by Lexus as an "MSRP adjustment," will be $108,000USD.
The Tesla Roadster, which is an all electric, high-end sports car, sells for $110,000USD by comparison.
The 2010 Prius, Toyota's non-Lexus hybrid, sells for about a quarter of that price.
And so ...
Perhaps the premium car market has the ability to absorb this kind of price tag, but with Fisker releasing the Karma sedan next year at $50,000 less and with Tesla releasing the S in 2011 at the same lower price, why would anyone buy the Lexus?
