Vehicle in the news
Make/Model: CT 200h
Manufacturer: Lexus (Toyota)
The car is everything that would be expected of one from Toyota's premium luxury brand. From the interior's flowing and lush design to the symmetrical looks of the hatchback exterior, it's what consumers expect.
The real news, though, is what's under the hood and in the drive train. The engine is a 1.8L VVT-i (variable valve technology intelligent) and Toyota's Hybrid Synergy Drive. A continuously variable transmission finishes off the hybrid powertrain. Combined, it puts out about 134hp, on par with the latest Prius.
The CT 200h is a plug-in hybrid capable of all-electric for up to 1.2 miles and 28mph and sports the same Eco, Normal, and Sport modes of the Prius.
And so ...
More details will come at the unveiling at the Geneva show next week.
