Honda Teases Hybrid CR-Z Type R
In brief: With the early success of the CR-Z sport coupe, Honda is planning another hybrid variant called the CR-Z Type R Hybrid.

The word

The CR-Z Type R Hybrid has only been teased so far, but Honda is telling us that it will be a gas-electric drive with an estimated 30mpg. A plug-in version will likely be available in 2013 with most of Honda's hybrid-electrics.
Like the 1980s favorite CR-Z, the CR-Z Type R will likely be the car of choice for the "pocket rocket" crowd of performance tuners.
The 1.5L (92cu-in) SOHC i-VTEC 150hp engine will couple with a 50hp electric motor and the 6-speed transmission will also include lithium-ion batteries for storage.
And so ...
Honda is definitely aiming to get the non-Prius crowd after the abject failure of the Insight to do so.
