The short-list of debut areas for the Volt now includes Austin, Texas and the New York metropolitan area. Then in 2011, they will be joined by New York State, New Jersey, Connecticut, Michigan, Washington D.C., and California. The rest of the country will follow in late 2011 or early 2012.
General Motors says they are targeting areas they believe are prepared to put the Volt to its maximum effect as a plug-in hybrid.

The Volt is currently on a 4-day "Freedom Drive" from Detroit to Los Angeles, which will finish on Monday.
