Cadillac Converj Concept Will Go To Production

In brief: General Motors has announced that the previously scrapped Cadillac Converj luxury extended range hybrid concept is being revived for production.

The word

GM plans to move forward with production based on the Voltec platform. The Converj will be known as the ELR and development for production has already begun.

The ELR will be sold internationally, hence the 3-letter naming convention.

Other than the announcement that the plug-in vehicle will be produced, GM has given no other information. Timing for the release is not known and specifications for the vehicle have not been released.

Expect more in the coming weeks as GM promotes three new fuel efficient vehicles during publicity events surrounding the Pebble Beach golf tournament and upcoming automotive shows.
