Bright Automotive boosts electric range for IDEA work van

Colorado-based Bright Automotive, makers of the innovative plug-in hybrid fleet vehicle the Bright IDEA, reported today that they have managed to boost performance on their work van.

Thanks to the installation of a 13 kWh battery pack, the fleet van will have an electric-only range of 40 miles before turning into a standard hybrid and earning 36 mpg.

This boost is up from the 30 mile range the company published when the vehicle first launched.
