3rd and 4th Graders Win Hybrid Bus for Their School
In brief: South Shore Public Charter School in Norwell, Mass. won the America's Greenest School title thanks to a group of 8 and 9 year-old students and thier mock newscast titled "Green!"
The winning entry from South Shore won them a new hybrid school bus from IC Bus, valued at $200,000, that is up to 65% more efficient than its diesel counterpart.
The school also won $20,000 for a green audit and makeover for the school, a $3,000 scholarship for the class, and $500 for class supplies.
Over a million votes were cast with this school coming out on top. This is the second annual contest held by IC Bus of Warrenville, Illinois to find America's Greenest School.

Contest entries began in January and were kicked off by Olympic gold medalist Summer Sanders.
