Winning Bid for 2011 Chevy Camaro -- $5.28
A lucky man was the winning bidder for a brand new 2011 Chevrolet Camaro SS. His winning bid for the $35,255 sports car -- $5.28.
According to a report from 4 Wheels News, there is a new auction website called FASTpennycars.com. It is one of those sites where bids are increased by just a penny or two. The only catch is that you have to buy a package of bids, which costs you anywhere from $0.70-to-$1 every time you bid.
Well, Jonathan Mason heard about the auction, bought a bunch of bids and sat down in front of his computer. The auction was only open for 75 minutes on Saturday afternoon, attracting 82 bidders from 16 states. And when it was all said and done, Mason was winner.
He exchanged his $5.28 for the car on Monday at a dealership in Frankenmuth, Michigan, which is where FASTpennycars is based.
The dealership sold the car to the auction site, so if anyone lost money on the deal, it would be the site.
