Mitsubishi and Peugeot Collaborate on Compact SUV
In brief: Mitsubishi Motors and PSA Peugeot Citroen have agreed to collaborate on a project for a compact SUV based on the Mitsubishi RVR platform - to be developed and marketed under the Peugeot and Citroen marques.

The unnamed European version of the RVR will launch in early 2012 as a compact SUV with a high-efficiency regenerative braking system and electrical power steering.
The vehicles will be available as both 4wd and 2wd models using a 1.6HDi Diesel at 50mpg (US avg., 2wd). Peugeot expects to reach 50,000 units sold per year under both brands.

Mitsubishi and Peugeot collaborated earlier on the European version of the Mitsubishi Outlander (4007 / C-Crosser) as well as a jointly-owned manufacturing plant in Russia as well as the electric iOn and C-zero cars to be introduced later this year (both based on the i-MiEV).
