Hyundai Unveils New Elantra With 1.6L GDI
In brief: Hyundai has unveiled the new Avante (U.S. Elantra) at the Busan Motor Show, featuring a new 1.6L Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI) engine.

The new compact sedan design is the best-selling model for Hyundai worldwide and now utilizes a 1.6L Gamma GDI engine coupled with a 6-speed automatic transmission.
This front-wheel-drive coupling results in 10% better fuel efficiency while delivering 138hp. The Gamma engine features a 150-bar direct injection fuel system along with Dual Continuously Variable Valve Timing (DCVVT) and a Variable Induction System (VIS).

The Avante/Elantra has sold more than 6 million units since entering the market in 1990.
