Make/Model: S-Max / Galaxy
Manufacturer: Ford Motor Company
The two vehicles have undergone near-total redesigns, with the addition of more efficient power trains being most compelling.
The S-Max and Galaxy models will include the 2.0L 203PS EcoBoost SCTi petrol engine, joining the also-efficient 115PS and 163PS 2.0L Dutatorq TDCi diesel engines already available in previous models. An updated 140PS TDCi will also be available later this year.
The S-Max crossover launched in 2006 and this new model has seen many changes for 2010, including LED lighting and a more efficient and sporty body style.
The Galaxy mini-van saw similar changes, including the addition of chrome accents.
The EcoBoost's high-pressure, direct injection system of the SCTi is capable of 25% more power than its predecessor and 19% lower CO2 emissions with both vehicles capable of 34.8mpg (combined, EUFED).
And so ...
Great developments from Ford. It was mentioned that these new engines will also be appearing in North American cars, though the diesel versions will probably not be.
