Cars Designed with Women in Mind

In 1955 and 1956 Dodge made a car called the La Femme. Just as its name suggests, it was built exclusively for women. It was pink and lavender and came with a pink leather handbag and matching compact with rain cape and umbrella.

In 2004 Volvo revived the "women only" car with a concept called Your Concept Car. It never got into production.

So now there are no cars designed for women only. But designers do keep women in mind while they are dreaming up their next great car. According to Forbes.com, here is the list of vehicles that carmakers expect women to like:

-- GMC Arcadia
-- Kia Optima Hybrid
-- Hyundai Tucson
-- Mitsubishi Outlander Sport
-- Volvo C70
-- Mazda 5
-- Acura TL
-- Chevrolet Cruze Eco
-- Saab 9-5
-- Chevrolet Equinox
