Cadillac, Lexus, Toyota Top Customer Satisfaction List

People who bought a Cadillac, Lexus, or Toyota are very happy with their purchases -- all three nameplates tied for the top spot on the American Customer Satisfaction Index’s annual ranking of automakers.

According to a report from Bloomberg News, all three finished with a score of 87 on a scale of 100. Lincoln and Mercedes-Benz rounded at the top five, tied at 86.

Toyota's finish surprised Claes Fornell, who created the index in 1994.

"Toyota makes a fair amount of fairly low-priced cars. For them to be that well-received is impressive, especially when you have a company like BMW scoring lower," he said.

Not only did BMW finish 11th, it had a score of 83, its lowest since 1997.

Chrysler finished last with a score of 76.
