ITM Power and Scottish Water Test HFUEL Electrolyzer
In brief: ITM Power has created the HFUEL portable hydrogen refueling unit for commercial and industrial fleets and has teamed with Scottish Water to test it on two of their vehicles.
ITM Power will be testing its low-cost electrolyzer units for refueling hydrogen cars on two vehicles provided by Scottish Water. The 5,000psi transportable hydrogen refueling unit is meant for commercial and industrial vehicle fleets and other hydrogen vehicles.
The two Scottish Water vehicles are Ford cars converted by Revolve Technologies to run on compressed hydrogen. The ITM units are currently under evaluation by DHL on two London airport vehicles as well.
And so ...
The ITM Power units are meant for commercial use, but the company is working on a home power unit which could be used to refuel hydrogen-burning and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles.
