UL Creates Electric Vehicle Charging Equipment Installation Training Programs
In brief: Underwriters Laboratories (UL) has launched a new initiative to develop and implement electric vehicle installation training programs to further the development and installation of EV charging equipment.
The training will be offered through UL University and will provide a platform for those involved in the design, manufacture, installation and inspection of electric vehicle (EV) charging equipment.
The training will culminate in testing which will require students to show an understanding of relevant National Electric Code (NEC) articles, installation requirements, and UL electric vehicle safety standards.
UL anticipates launching the new training programs this fall. Company-specific training programs will be developed soon afterwards.
And so ...
Being the nation's number one source for electrical safety standards, UL is definitely the group best suited to the electric part of electric vehicles.
