The REV 300 ACX All Electric SUV
In brief: the REV 300 is a fleet-purposed, highway-ready sport utility vehicle.

Make/Model: 300 ACX
The REV 300 ACX is a Ford Escape sport utility that has been refitted with a plug-in electric drive train. Sold as a fleet vehicle through Ford dealerships, the SUVs are capable of 100 miles per hour and have a range of up to 120 miles per charge.
The chasis begins as a fully-loaded Ford Escape, sans the engine and transmission, and Rapid Electric Vehicles then puts in lithium-ion phosphate batteries and electric drive components.
The build includes:
- 90kW AC drive
- eGearDrive system (single speed)
- Battery Management System (BMS)
- Variable, user-controlled regenerative braking system
- LED lighting
The truck requires 3.5 to 5 hours to charge to full at 240V with a rapid-charge option coming soon.
Because the ACX begins life as an OEM vehicle, it does not need further federal highway safety testing to meet safety standards. It's center of gravity is lower, however, and it weighs in a few pounds heavier than its gasoline counterpart.
REV is based in Vancouver, British Columbia and has so far sold ACX vehicles to the City of Santa Monica in California and several Canadian fleets.
And so ...
This fleet SUV is also available to consumers and is possibly the fastest way to get into an electric vehicle and is available now as a 2010 model.
