Tesla Sweeps Monte Carlo Rally
In brief: The Tesla Roadster driven by Formula One veteran Erik Comas becomes the first electric vehicle to win an FIA-sanctioned rally.

Of the 96 competitors in the Monte Carlo Alternative Energy Rally, a race sanctioned by the Federation Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), the Tesla Roadster piloted by Erik Comas, a Formula One veteran, came out on top.
The Roadster won in range, efficiency, and performance in the 1,000-mile race that included highways, two-lane roads, mountain passes, and sprints on the Monaco F1 track.
The Roadster also won the Efficiency Cup and the Electric Vehicles Cup.

Last year, Tesla took the EV range record at 387-kilometers in one charge with room to spare on arrival.
