Rimac Unveils Concept One Supercar
In brief: Rimac has unveiled a hot new sports car concept that's all electric and very much the supercar.
Vehicle in the news
Make/Model: Concept One
Unveiled at Frankfurt, the infamous Rimac company showed off the Concept One to a stunned crowd. With elements of Ferrari, Porsche, and Lamborghini in it, the Concept One is a uniquely statement-making supercar with as much going on in style as it has under the hood (and floorboards, and wheels, and..).
The motors put out a huge 1,088 horsepower at 2,800lb-ft of torque. Yes, those are numbers in the thousands. That gives the Concept One a 0-60 time of less than 2.8 seconds and a top speed of 190mph. All electric, no engine in sight. Most of the car's weight and low stance is thanks to its huge battery bank which gives it a world-trotting range of 370 miles per charge.
Obviously, this concept is not a low-cost commuter. With an interior crafted by Pininfarina and Viner and that kind of technology propelling it, this is not your daddy's Tesla.
Rimac is from Croatia and started in 2009, so the journey from startup to concept vehicle has been as fast as the Concept One itself.
And so ...
While the car may never actually make production, it's a huge splash introduction for the new company. Expect to see more of them in the future.
