Make/Model: Fluence / Kangoo Express
Renault plans to have these vehicles on the market starting in 2011 as all-electric vehicles (EV) with rollouts beginning in Europe. The models will be the popular Fluence sedan and the all-new light commercial Kangoo Express, both under Renault's Z.E. (Zero Emissions) brand moniker.
Pre-reservations for priority availability are being taken on Reanault's ZE website.
The Fluenze Z.E. is based on the Fluence internal combustion engine (ICE) model and platform and will first appear in Israel, then Europe. It is a compact, four-door sedan and is slightly longer than its ICE brethren.
It has a range of 99 miles and top speed of 84mph.
Kangoo Express Z.E.
The Kangoo Express Z.E. is a light commercial vehicle targeted at the same market as the Ford Transit Connect EV and the European Smith Eidson of the same model.
It's chassis will be the same as the current internal combustion Kangoo, but the body has been redesigned. The ICE Kangoos may also change to this new look, but Renault has not specified that.
The Kangoo Z.E. has a range of 99 miles and a cargo space similar to the current Kangoo (3.5m cubed, up to 1/2 ton).
And so ...
The Kangoo EV begins production in early 2011 and the Fluence will begin shortly after that.
