Remy and Enova to Collaborate on New EV System
In brief: Enova Systems and Remy are to collaborate on a new electric drive system based on the Enova Omni controller and the Remy HVH motor.
Remy is North America's largest independent manufacturer of advanced electric propulsion motors while Enova is one of the leading vehicular electronics makers.
The non-exclusive letter of intent was signed on June 30 and will employ the unconventional HVH motor with precision-formed rectangular (rathern than circular) wires wrapped around the stator. This improves "slot fill" and thus motor efficiency by size:power. It also means less heat generation.
When combined with the industry gold standard Omni controller, a hybrid or all-electric system could become much more powerful, but in a smaller package.
And so ...
Very strong team up and it will be interesting to see the results.
