Pininfarina Bluecar (formerly B0) to Hit Market This Year

In brief: The concept shown as the B0 at the Geneva Motor Show in 2009 was developed by the Ballore Group and Pininfarina and is expected to become available this fall.

The Italian design company, Pininfarina, says that the car is still on track for release this year as the French developer, Ballore Group, completes their lithium battery plants and Pininfarina meets other manufacturing requirements.

The battery electric commuter car made a splash at last year's Geneva show with its 153-mile range and 80mph top speed.

And so ...

Pininfarina hopes to churn out 2,000 units this year, mostly for sale to rental and commercial fleets.
