Nissan Infinity Essence to be Performance-Oriented EV
In brief: The "BMW of Japan" Nissan Infinity brand is known for power, performance and luxury. Now it will be electric too.

Nissan hasn't given any details on the electric plans for Infinity, but Ghosn, Nissan's CEO, did announce the brand will include one of four planned battery electrics to come out in the near future.
Most have assumed that the underlying drive train will be the one used in the LEAF, perhaps beefed up for performance.
Infinity VP Ben Poor was interviewed in Automotive News (subscription required) and stated that the new EV will be up to the performance standards that Infinity is known for.

Being Nissan's premium brand, price points may have some give so that the company would be able to put higher battery capacity or more costly capacitors to keep performance high and range realistic.
