Manufacturer: Myers Motors
Myers Motors is taking pre-orders on the Duo with final prices depending on the total number of units ordered by June 5, 2010, when the car will begin production.
Myers states on their pre-order page that the highest price (single unit production price) is $29,995.00 before any incentives, but every 200 units pre-ordered lowers that cost by $1,000, which Myers will pass directly to consumers. So with 1,000 units pre-ordered, the price would drop by $5,000 and federal tax credits of $2,499 would put the final price at $22,500.
The base vehicle at that price ships with a 60 mile battery pack (lithium-ion), which can be upgraded to 80 and 100 mile packs at $2,500 and $5,000 respectively. The top speed of the Duo is 75mph.
And so ...
The Little Automaker That Could is in Ohio and Myers looks to be delivering the goods come this time next year.
