Magna International Launches Electric Technology Parts and Services Section

In brief: Magna International is one of the world's largest international parts suppliers and they've launched a new global unit called E-Car Systems to supply parts and services to the emerging electric car industry.

The word

E-Car Systems will provide electric technology integration services to automakers in developing hybrid-electric and all-electric vehicles. This includes hybrids, plug-in hybrids, battery electrics, fuel cell electrics, etc.

Magna has, in the past, already developed a concept vehicle, produced battery packs for heavy vehicles, and have worked with Ford on the upcoming Focus BEV.

The British company has also invested heavily in a lithium mining operation in Argentina, considered to potentially be the largest in the world.

Magna debuted this new global unit at the Detroit auto show.
