The word

Hertz LEAFHertz will be offering the LEAF for rental in select cities in the U.S. and Europe beginning in 2011. The company did not announce specific launch points for the car, but the usual suspects (California, Oregon, D.C., New York, London) are likely.

Hertz says that their alt-fuel and electrified fleets (hybrids like the Prius) are popular options and people are willing to pay a premium to rent them.

And so ...

Hertz also announced, last month, that they will be buying out Dollar Thrifty car rentals, adding about 1,500 locations to their list.
