Evida Launches Production of Battery Packs for New Mia EVs
In brief: Evida Power, a designer and manufacturer of li-ion battery packs, is beginning manufacturing for battery packs to be used in the upcoming Mia electric car.
The two models of the Mia Electric, the 3-seat commuter and the microbus, will feature 8kWh battery packs from Evida. Battery packs have already begun shipping and Mia plans to have vehicles rolling out of its assembly plant in Cerizay, France later this year.
The order follows on the heels of an agreement between the two companies for up to 10,000 battery units per year until 2016.
The first vehicles from Mia will deliver to government and commercial fleets later this year.
And so ...
This new company appeared virtually out of nowhere.
