Manufacturer: Enova Systems
The Enova Ze is a combination of Enova Systems' electric power train and any of a number of manufacturer's step-in bodies (in this case Freightliner). Enova also makes power trains and chassis for Smith Electric Vehicles in the United Kingdom and First Auto Works in China, among others.
The Enova Ze is powered by a 120kW motor and lithium-ion batteries for a walk-in delivery truck with a GVWR between 10,0001 and 16,000 pounds in 12, 14, and 16 foot body lengths.
The GSA is in charge of purchasing and testing of various vehicles for several government offices. The Enova Ze coupled with a Freightliner MT-45 walk-in body has been tested by the U.S. Air Force for 18 months with positive results.
And so ...
All of this is part of President Obama's executive order requiring the GSA to lower overall fleet emissions by 30% by 2020.
