Make/Model: Concept HER-02
Manufacturer: EV Sports
The grueling 12-mile climb up Pike's Peak is a sporting event challenge that is taken by dozens of steadfast drivers and their vehicles every year.
This year features several electric vehicles, including Eva Hakansson on her ElectroCat motorcycle and now the HER-02 buggy.
The buggy's earlier concept version (called the Geolander) made the run on last year's Pike's Peak climb with a time of 14:50. The fastest time of any vehicle is 10:01, so that is a great showing for the EV.
The new version uses a motor from AC Propulsion, batteries from Sanyo, and Yokohama's new Advan ENV-R2 orange oil tires. Yokohama is sponsoring the car, showcasing its newest tire tech which reduces petroleum use in manufacture by 20%.
And so ...
Very cool! Should be a great year on the Peak.
