In brief: Chrysler, now 30% owned by Fiat, will be displaying the electric version of the Fiat 500 with the Chrysler brand on it in Detroit later this month.

Fresh out of bankruptcy and new controversy thanks to a lack of green vehicle plans in their 5-year prospectus, Chrysler is hoping to change its image by using partial-owner Fiat's latest electric offering.
While it's not clear if the subscompact Fiat 500 electric will have a Fiat or Chrysler logo on it, it is sure that Chrysler will be the one fronting it rather than their Italian benefactor.
Perhaps tellingly, this is the only vehicle Chrysler has announced they'll be showing in Detroit and has announced no press conference plans, which means they'll likely have a subdued and understated presence. If you can call the tiny 500 a car with "presence."
And so ...
On the up side, the Fiat 500 is a slightly better-looking car than the Mitsubishi i-MiEV and it seats four, being 33" larger than the Smart ForTwo.
