The word

The two cars have both made the nominee list for the North American Car of the Year awards this year. The panel of fifty automotive journalists from the U.S. and Canada will choose from the fourteen nominees and the winner will be announced at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in December.
The fourteen nominees for North American Truck of the Year will also be whittled down to a winner in December.
With the growing rivalry between the range-extended electric Volt and the all-electric Leaf, the winner of this year's NACOTY will be taking home more than just a trophy, but also bragging rights - especially if one of the two green cars on the list is the top choice.
And so ...
Competition includes the Audi A8, the Buick Regal, the Chevrolet Cruze, the Ford Fiesta, the Hyundai Sonata, the Infiniti M37/M56, the Jaguar XJ, the Kia Optima, the Mazda2, the Nissan Juke, the Volkswagen Jetta, and the Volvo S60.
