The word

The Chinese company BYD has made headlines with their electric concepts and low price points. Both of their electrics, the e6 crossover concept and the F3DM production range-extended electric, will be in attendance at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit next month.
BYD has also announced a targeted U.S. sales date for the F3DM in the second quarter of 2010.
Final dollar figures haven't been announced, but BYD has promised affordability as part of their package.
And so ...
If the Chinese automaker makes their delivery date for sales here, they could be the first company to introduce a currently mass-produced electric in North America.
