Brammo, SMRE Enginerring Enter Partnership

Brammo Engage

In brief: Brammo and S.M.R.E. Engineering have entered a strategic partnership for the Integrated Electric Transmission (IET).

The word

Brammo EngageThe IET is an electric vehicle transmission specifically made for motorcycles and this agreement gives Brammo exclusive license (internationally) to offer the IET in its motorcycles.

The IET is a 6-speed mechatronic transmission that emulates the performance and feel of a combustion engine's transmission, giving a riding experience and gear-shift (and the speed this includes) to electrics.

The first application of the IET will be on Brammo's forthcoming Engage and Excite models, which will appear in Las Vegas for the MiniMotoSX race on Friday (May 6).

All four new Brammo models (Engage MX, SMR, SMS, and Encite MMX Pro) will feature the IET and Brammo's new swappable battery packs.

And so ...

Very cool development for Moto racing electrics. Prices for the new Engage models starts at $9,995 (base). No price has been announced for the Encite yet.
