Audi's E-Tron is Now a Brand Lineup, Not Just a Car
In brief: Audi has announced that the name "E-Tron" will become their latest brand, designating the company's electrics.
The E-Tron began as an electric car concept, refined itself into a production concept (above), and is now a full brand for Audi.
The E-Tron brand will take its place alongside Audi's venerable Quattro, which is one of the most well-recognized brands in the European automotive industry.
Audi plans to expand the E-tron brand to include other vehicles, all of them electric (or hybrid-electric). Over the next decade, Audi has said they plan to roll out an increasing number of models with alternative powertrains, many of which will be micro- and strong hybrids and battery electrics.
And so ...
Apparently the idea of electric vehicles has caught on at Audi, who while remaining behind the curve in development, is at least coming out with style.
