Aston Martin Shows Off Its Toyota iQ Spinoff - the Cygnet
In brief: Aston Martin has revealed the final concept version of their Cygnet EV, a licensed variant of the Toyota iQ.

The word

While no firm release date for the electric car has been given, Aston Martin's press release does say that they will be working on it "into 2010."
The Cygnet is based on the Toyota iQ with little more than styling changes to fit the Aston Martin brand.
It is, frankly, a better-looking version of the iQ, but the interior is a little hokey. How many green buyers who want an electric commuter are interested in a leather-clad interior?

Made purely for the European market, the Cygnet will be sold throughout the European Union, initially, with limited exports possible after that. Aston Martin lists the car as a "luxury commuter" and only gives "hope" that it will be a production model.

And so ...
Long story short... nothing to see here, move along. The iQ is a popular vehicle for licensing variants and, in the end, this is just another one.
