Vehicle in the news
Make/Model: 3008 Hybrid4
The 3008 Hybrid4 is diesel-electric hybrid at its finest. The 2.0L HDi engine is clean-burning and one of the most efficient diesel engines being made and at 1997cc, it puts out good power for the punch, turning the front wheels of the 3008.
At the other end of the car, the rear axle is powered by a synchronized 27kW electric motor, giving the car four wheel drive for most of its operations.
The 3008 can go for very short distances all-electric, but being a hybrid rather than a battery electric, it focuses on its ultra-efficient drivetrain instead of on huge batteries.
The 3008 Hybrid4 does 0-60 in about 8 seconds and has a top speed of 118mph. It's worst economy is a respectable 47mpg (EU), but using the dashboard's subtle green driving hints will push it as high as 74mpg.
And so ...
The car is expensive, but is a true Peugeot in semi-luxury feel and accoutrements.
