Volkswagen's Audi announced that it's November sales for its two flagship TDI models, the A3 and Q7, were dominating the U.S. totals. The two diesel models accounted for the lion's share of sales compared to their gasoline engine counterparts.
The A3 sold 69% of its models with TDI engines rather than gasoline while the Q7 sold 45% of its TDIs versus gasoline.
This comes with a sales increase of 37.5% in total sales for the company in November over last year. Year-to-date sales are up 20% over 2009.
And so ...Diesel is slowly, but finally catching on the U.S. as automakers like Audi bring their European diesels to North America.
