In brief: The Kenworth Truck Company will be adding the Cummins Westport ISL G natural gas engine to its lineup of T800 and W900S mid-sized heavy hauler trucks.

Make/Model: T800 SH and W900S
Manufacturer: Kenworth Truck Company
The natural gas-burning engines will be added to the T800 short hood (SH) and the W900S (square nose) models of Kenworth trucks in the heavy frame, short-hauler lineup.
Used mainly for municipal, vocational, and pickup/delivery applications such as garbage trucks, dump trucks, and so forth, these models are now available in the near-zero emissions natural gas (both liquified and compressed) configuration offered by the Cummins ISL G.
The Cummins Westport ISL G is an 8.9L stoichiometric cooled-exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) engine that puts out up to 320hp and 1,000 lb-ft of torque. It actually puts out more power than the comparable diesel because no particulate filter or catalytic reduction is required. It does use a three way catalyst, but does not choke the exhaust flow as there is so little to filter.
Versions of the engine are available for both LNG and CNG.
And so ...
Interesting addition to the green lineup that Kenworth Truck has been quietly adding to their line.
