Freightliner 114 SD Gets Natural Gas Option

In brief: Freightliner Trucks has announced that its new 114 Severe Duty (SD) set-back axle (SBA) truck will be available with natural gas this year.

The word

The new 114SD set-back axle line is designed for severe duty segments such as construction, dump truck, refuse, and sewer vacuum applications. The trucks are heavy-duty SBA trucks that incorporate the Allison 3000RDS transmission for improved start-ability at vehicle launch in extreme conditions (such as on a grade, in deep mud, etc).

The trucks are now available for pre-purchase/order with a Cummins ISLG natural gas engine from the factory. Delivery of the NG trucks begins in December.
