Chicago Auto Show
From February 8 - 17, the Chicago Auto Show opens to the public for an unprecedented 100th time, giving it the distinction of being the first auto show to reach the century mark. Every major car maker will have more than a few production and concept vehicles on display. Of interest to us at FutureCars are a select few vehicles:

Green-friendly vehicles making their production debuts at this year’s show include:

• Honda FCX Clarity: Honda’s V-flow hydrogen fuel cell stack gets added power from a lithium ion battery pack—270 mile range.

• Cadillac Escalade Hybrid SUV: An innovative, fuel-saving 2-Mode Hybrid system offers a 50-percent improvement in fuel economy.

Green-friendly concept cars appearing this year include:

• Chrysler ecoVoyager: An electric motor with a lithium-ion battery pack—40 mile range. With a hydrogen fuel cell range extender—300 mile range

• 2008 Dodge Zeo: A muscular 2+2 sports wagon with electric-only propulsion with lithium-ion battery pack—250 miles.

• Jeep Renegade: a 40-mile lithium-ion battery pack plus a 115 hp, 1.5-liter, 3-cyclinder BLUETEC diesel engine—400 mile range (and approximately 110 mpg).

The public show runs from February 8 through February 17 and adult ticket price is $10.
